The Studios Inc Exhibition Space is pleased to present Autonomous Bodies an
exhibition featuring new resident artists Kathy Liao, Benjamin Rosenthal, and Susan
White on view from 5.11.18 to 6.15.18 with an opening reception Friday, 5.11.18
from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.

Autonomous Bodies explores the intimacy of individual bodies in both physical and
virtual worlds. Kathy Liao’s mixed media paintings examine relationships, intimacy,
and technology layering the works based around memories, moments, and
observations. Benjamin Rosenthal interdisciplinary videos and new media works
traverses the field of visual art, sculpture, and installation questioning the
authenticity and intimacy of our realities through a queer lens. Susan White sculpts
honey locust thorns and other materials creating large installations that explore
elemental relationships between bodies and landscapes.
Kathy Liao, Benjamin Rosenthal, and Susan White are Studios Inc’s new resident
artists. Studios Inc provides studio space, professional development, networking,
and exhibitions for mid-career artists in Greater Kansas City.
